Daniela Ângelo

Daniela Ângelo (1996, Almada) lives and works in Lisbon.

She studied Photography at Ar.Co - Centro de Artes e Comunicação Visual, Lisbon.

Her work focuses on the everyday perception of the spatial, social and historical dimension of cities. For the artist, speculating about what she sees daily is an equally simple and complex exercise, as it implies rethinking the way individuals direct their objective and emotional attention to usually ignored spaces and situations.

Daniela Ângelo recently presented her first solo exhibition, "Babuíno Talismã", at Galeria da Boavista, Lisbon (2024). In 2020, she was selected for the Vila Franca de Xira Photography Biennial and since then she has taken part in several group exhibitions, such as: (2023) Nucleosynthesis: with Miguel Palma, Helder Alfaiate Gallery, Ericeira; Taking the Light Out of the Prism, Duplex, Lisbon; We Loved Each Other for One Month, Francisco Fino Gallery, Lisbon; Contravisões, Parte II, M.A.C.E., Elvas; Por um Mundo de Muitos Mundos, Galeria Francisco Fino, Lisbon; O Encantado Só Anda no Horário da Maré, Graça, Lisbon; (2022) Perguntas à Ficção, Edifício Arco-Íris, Elvas; Quem Nos Salva?
