We are pleased to share the opening of Emancipations, a group exhibition including works by Helena Almeida at Foto Colectanea, Barcelona.
This exhibition tells the story of two emancipations: that of Spanish society, which gradually moved away from traditional social structures and embarked on its path towards modernity after the Second World War and the end of the Franco regime; and that of the photographic medium, which moved from its role within amateur circles and magazines towards the more ambitious and autonomous forms of authorial photography and contemporary art.
Opening 08 October, Emancipations will be on view until 07 February 2027.
