We are pleased to share the opening of Personagens e Intérpretes, a solo exhibition by João Penalva at Centro de arte Oliva , São João da Madeira.
Personagens e intérpretes revisits the career of João Penalva (b. 1949), whose artistic practice has explored the relationships between image, narrative, memory, and representation. His career, marked by the intersection of the visual arts and dance, reveals a persistent willingness to cross disciplinary boundaries, question those boundaries, and investigate the multiple ways in which artistic experience is constructed.
Opening 28 November, Personagens e intérpretes will be on view until 30 May 2027.
