Bardo Loops

Gabriel Abrantes

We are pleased to share the opening of Bardo Loops, a solo exhibition by Gabriel Abrantes at Gasworks, London. 15 April between 6:30 and 8:30 PM.

For his first solo exhibition in the UK, Abrantes will present his four-channel video installation in which animated ghosts living in a dystopian future ravaged by rains, floods and fires have conversations, fight, argue, cry, break up and have sex. These avatars cycle through topics that are both real and current, oblivious to the ongoing devastation around them, fully absorbed in their own personal dramas.

The exhibition’s public program includes:

Curator's Tour | 9 May 12:30 – 1:00 PM

Rachel Be-Yun Wang, Assistant Curator at Gasworks

Neighbourhood Breakfast & Exhibition Tour | 20 May 8:30 – 10:30 AM

Rosa Tyhurst, Curator at Gasworks

With the support of Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation – UK Branch. On view until 14 June 2026.
