Bienal de Pontevedra

We are pleased to share that Vasco Araújo is presenting his performance Libertas - Da condição de pessoa livre next Friday June 27th at 8PM in Pontevedra.

 

Presented as part of the Bienal de Pontevedra’s performance parallel program, curated by Iñaki Martinez, Araújo’s performance seeks to question the idea of freedom of human beings, who can speak, and the boundaries that constantly exist between societies, classes, groups and individuals. Most of the time, these confrontations result in oppressive spaces and actions of one dominant group over another, where a chain of actions-reactions is developed. This reminds us of the old relationships between men and women, conservatives and liberals, colonisers and colonised, masters and slaves.
