Need for Speed

Karlos Gil

Galeria Francisco Fino is pleased to share the opening of Karlos Gil solo exhibition Need for Speed, 15 June, a solo show at La Panera.

In Need for Speed Gil presents a speculative archaeology of speed, obsolescence, and ruin as traces of the present. The exhibition unfolds in the emblematic 13th-century columns hall of La Panera—formerly a grain warehouse—now transformed into a spectral landscape where Lleida’s agrarian past, industrial memory, and an uncertain future merge into a territory of constant tension.

On view until October 5th, this new exhibition proposes an expanded reading of the term speed—not as dynamism but as a symptom of exhaustion, a warning of a senseless acceleration that has left a landscape in ruins. Gil transforms these ruins into an open laboratory: a space from which to imagine other forms of existence.
