That makes me think of Subterranean, a work that shows the assembly of a gas pipeline of
the kind they are building so many of nowadays: an energy communications link. We see a
man, a foreman, checking the quality of the welding inside the tubes. These also make very
abstract compositions, with the emphasis on the lines of welding, the milling of the pipes,
made smoother so that the energy inside can flow through more smoothly. Here we are at
the heart of the “Kazma method”: the balancing of what belongs strictly to the real with
what is strictly artistic.
