These sculptures exist in the paradox of weight
and lightness. On the one hand, the title of the
piece points to the gesture of carrying flowers
to someone, while on the other hand the sculptures reflect on the lightness and weight intrinsic to what it means to be human, mirroring the
poetic baggage that each person carries within
them. The typically romantic gesture of carrying flowers materialises an act of love that manifests itself through the lightness of the flowers
and contrasts with the weight of the backpacks
placed on the floor. Sometimes exhausted,
sometimes tireless, what we carry with us re-
veals the way we walk through life and a poetic
and performative tension that contains movement, but also the crystallisation of a moment
of beauty where ephemerality and posterity are
condensed.
