João Motta Guedes
This piece is an ode to meeting and mismatching, suggesting a poetics about the people who accompany us and run with us side by side throughout our lives, sometimes for short moments, other times for long distances. Each of the walkways that turn in opposite directions contains half of a poem that completes itself. It’s about the journey of two bodies that meet and mismatch, corresponding to a whole but also to the individuality of each, yet always subject to the temporality and circumstances of life. Between each person’s path there is a distance and a presence that manifests itself in an infinite dialogue. If one says “the road goes as the road goes”, the other replies “by your side running again and again”, signalling the metaphorical rhythm of encounter and disencounter.
